Fergie’s L.A. Love-inspired Guide to Los Angeles

Lifestyle

Fergie for AvonFergie has a lot of love for L.A. It’s where she grew up, where she launched her chart-topping music career, and where she’s raising her son, Axl, with husband Josh Duhamel. It’s also the star of her hit single, L.A. Love. Whether she’s grabbing a bite to eat with friends, jogging in Runyon Canyon, or singing at the Staples Center, Fergie finds a way to make the most of her hometown.

So, what are this Avon Ambassador’s favourite local spots? Read on for Fergie’s L.A. Love-inspired recommendations.

When I want to feel like a part of history,

I visit Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Before the Kodak Theatre hosted Hollywood award ceremonies, they were held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. If you go today, you have to fight through throngs of performers and tourists on Hollywood Boulevard, but it’s worth it. It’s more than a tourist attraction—the interior design is absolutely stunning and I love catching a movie in the IMAX theatre. We shot some of my L.A. Love video right at that spot, as it is so quintessential Hollywood.

When I want to treat myself,

I go to In-N-Out Burger and have a double double, fries and a half vanilla/half chocolate shake. The burgers there are legendary and when you go in there, there is always this crazy mix of people.

When I want to feel empowered,

I take a break and head to Runyon Canyon. It’s a great hike and you feel great about yourself when it’s done. I love the view, too—you can see the entire city skyline from Indian Rock.

When I want to be inspired,

I go to Venice Beach. Venice Beach isn’t just a beach—it’s a hub of creativity. There’s never a dull moment on the boardwalk. Fortune tellers, musicians, artists and street vendors make it one of the most colourful places in L.A. But Venice isn’t just about the boardwalk anymore. Away from the beach there’s this really cool restaurant and art scene. Venice is constantly changing.

When I want to be trendy,

I go to Cecconi’s on Melrose or to Nobu in Malibu. Cecconi’s has a great Italian menu, and is always a cute scene. The truffle pizza is pure heaven. Nobu Malibu is new and is the most beautiful dining scene in L.A., where you sit over the crashing waves and watch the California Sunset.

When I want to feel L.A. pride,

I go to the Staples Center. In January, I surprised fans at a basketball game with a flash-mob performance of L.A. Love. There’s nothing more empowering than performing for your hometown. Even if I’m not singing, I love going to games at the Staples Center. The energy in the air is incredible.

When I want to feel like a rockstar,

I spritz Outspoken Fresh on my wrists and go to The Rainbow Bar & Grill. The Rainbow Bar & Grill is a Los Angeles institution. From back in the day, rock n’ roll legends frequented this bar and restaurant on the Sunset Strip and still do even now.
