While her job as a style blogger takes her around the globe – from Fashion Week shows in New York and Mexico City to photo shoots in Amsterdam – Blank Itinerary founder Paola Alberdi calls San Diego home. To get the inside scoop on the sunny city, Beauty for a Purpose checked in with the Southern California native for a virtual tour of her favourite local haunts.

The best local place to shop is:

Fashion Valley Mall. They basically have everything you need!

My weekly ritual is:

going to the farmers market on Saturdays.

My go-to restaurants are:

Lanna (the best Thai food ever), Sushi Ota (this is a must!), and Café Gratitude. I am Mexican, so I am a tough critic when it comes to Mexican food, but I would say the best in San Diego is Puesto.

One of my favourite local areas is:

Little Italy. They have great restaurants, coffee shops, and a farmers market every Saturday.

Take out-of-towners to:

Coronado. It’s an island that has a beautiful beach and one of the oldest hotels in town. There is a great bar by the beach where you can sit and enjoy a great cocktail as you watch the sunset.

For a special night on the town, head to:

Alexanders in North Park. They have the cutest restaurant and great pizzas. In the summer they are constantly playing old movies on a projector – it has the best vibes. Another cool place is The Noble Experiment, a speakeasy located in the back of a restaurant called Neighborhood. This place is seriously the coolest!

My go-to beach is:

Windansea in La Jolla. No doubt about it!
